Janet McKnight
Dean of Instruction

I am a native Texan born and raised in this area. I graduated from L.D. Bell High School. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Texas Christian University and a Master’s of Education with a specialty in Supervision also from TCU. My son, Jeff, and my daughter, Jordan, both graduated from Grapevine High School and Texas A&M University. When not working, my husband, Ed, and I spend a great deal of time at our cabin on Possum Kingdom Lake. We also are avid football fans, especially when it involves Texas A&M or TCU!!

I am a founding staff member of Heritage Middle School with this year being my 32nd in education. I have taught 6th grade World Cultures and served as a team leader before moving into the position I have now. Some of my job responsibilities include: working with students whose last names begins with A – K, coordinating textbooks and coordinating facilities and maintenance. I organize student assemblies and oversee the cheerleading and dance programs.
